Team Buddies Do The Dog Jog

Here at Buddies, we are always looking for new and exciting ways to raise money for our chosen charity’s. The team were keen to find a fundraising event that the office dogs could join in with too. Whilst researching, we came across the ‘Dog Jog’ website.

Taking place from June to October at 20 locations throughout the UK, Dog Jogs are an opportunity for you and your canine companion to get some fresh air and exercise with other dogs across the UK. Dog Jogs are 5k jogging events for you and your dog with a relaxed, fun atmosphere, no times and no pressure.

Buddies team members, Becks and Colette, will be completing the Milton Keynes Dog Jog in September, joined by office dogs Elvis, Serge and Rudi.

The team will be raising money for our chosen charity, Medical Detection Dogs.

Medical Detection Dogs - Social Graphic - Copy - CopyThe charity’s Bio-Detection Dogs are trained to find the odour of diseases, such as cancer, in samples such as urine, breath and swabs, while their Medical Alert Assistance Dogs are trained to detect minute changes in an individual’s personal odour triggered by their disease, and alert them to an impending medical event.

The total cost of training and placing a Medical Alert Assistance Dog is £13,000. The total cost of training a Bio Detection Dog is £11,500 with an ongoing monthly cost of £600, so any money raised by the Buddies team’s efforts will be greatly appreciated.

You can sponsor the team by visiting our JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
