Buddies Yearling Stakes 2019 – UK Toy

The first of our Yearling Stakes heats was held at UK Toy Dog in Stafford on Saturday 30th March.

Both dog and bitch heats had fantastic entry levels, with all competitors being of a high standard, making judge Rob Sansom’s job extremely hard.

Securing their place at the final from the dog class was Pomeranian Ch Baromar Dubonet At Altina – pet name Dodo.

Buddies Yearling Stakes - Dog‘Dodo took his 1st CC Res Best in show and Best Puppy in show at 8 months. He had multiple Res CC’s as a puppy, then took his 2nd CC at LKA with BOB, followed by his 3rd at Manchester with BOB. He also took toy group 3 at Manchester. At Crufts he took DCC BOB and was shortlisted in the group UK Toy, and he is still only 20 months, so I am very proud.’ Says owner Tina Holman.

Joining Dodo at the final is Livera’s Dancing with Stars, who won the Bitch Class. Pomeranian Darcey is just 19 months old.

‘Darcey has 3 CCs and won numerous RCCs as a puppy.  She was Toy Puppy Group Winner at Bournemouth Ch Show, Toy Puppy Group 2 winner at Bath Champ Show and Junior Pom of the Year Top Bitch. Darcey gets her full name, Darcey Bussell, when she’s being very good.’ Says owner Averil Cawthera-Purdy.

Taking second place in the dog class was Noaha Tarabads’ Tillashby’s Nick Is In A Twist At Frondil, – pet name Nico. 12-month-old, Japanese Chin Nico, has had a very successful year so far taking BPIS at The Japanese Chin Club Champ Show at just 6 months old, and BP at Manchester, Boston and Crufts 2019. He also took RBPIS at Colchester open show 2018 and was an East Anglian Supermatch and YKC Stakes 2018 qualifier.

Taking second place in the bitch class was Julia Ashton’s Pug, Rosewitch Another Excuse with Zobear TAF.

Third in the dog class was won by Margaret Cowie’s Pug, Sunlea Cast A Spell Over Megipugi JW. In the bitch class, this was won by Margaret Moss’ Bichon Frise, Mamose I’m Bizzy Fizzin.

Paulette Duffield’s Pomeranian, Ta Bozi’s Wild Heart Star at Paavali (Imp Nor), pet name Nestor, took RES in the dog class. 16-month-old Nestor is new to being shown in the UK but has been successful so far.

‘He took 2nd Junior dog at Manchester, 1st Junior Dog at Crufts, 1st Limit dog and RCC at UK Toy. Following his placings at UK Toy, he went on to win 1st Limit dog The Pomeranian Champ show the same weekend.’ Says Paulette.

Buddies Yearling Stakes - BITCH RES - Wendy Waters14-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Sweetbriar Sorbet took RES in the bitch class. Breeders/owners Miss Wendy Waters and Mrs K Bryson say she has numerous breed club and general championship show class wins.

Rob Sansom awarded VHC in the dog class to Joanna Ginger’s Chihuahua, Jodeschi Incoming Blizzard.

‘Blizzard is 14 months old and has had lots of wins including BPIB, Best dog and reserve best dog at open shows including 3rd best puppy in show at Spire Toy Dog Society Show.
