Buddies Yearling Stakes 2019 – Hound Association of Scotland

The third of our Yearling Stakes heats was held at The Hounds Association of Scotland Show in Edinburgh on Saturday 13th April.

Both dog and bitch classes had some fantastic entries, with judging from Mr Jim Richardson.

Securing their place at the final from the dog class was Basset Griffon Vendeen (grand), Macaroni V Tum-Tums Vriendjes of Tarmachan (imp NLD) – pet name Mac. 14-month-old Mac is owned by Fiona Buchanan.

‘Mac was imported from the famous Van Tum Tum Kennels in The Netherlands. He is out of our homebred Ch/Ir Ch Tarmachan Cartier, who is the current breed record holder and was top dog 2014,2016,2017 & 2018. Mac has 6 Best Puppy, including Best Puppy in Show at the BGV Championship Show, 3 Reserve Best Dog, 1 RCC and 1 Best Dog all at Championship Shows. He also won Junior Dog at Crufts this year.’ Says Fiona.

Fiona also won the Buddies Stakes at HAS last year with his cousin Tarmachan Ice Cool.

Joining Mac at the final is Boughton Bizzarrini At Azrams, who won the Bitch Class. Greyhound, Jojo is 23 months old.

‘Jojo has a furry toy cat and a kangaroo that she likes to take out in the run with her. She loves them and cuddles into them in bed.

She has had a very successful show career to date. She has 1 CC with BOB, 4 Res CC’s, 2 puppy group placings at Ch. show level, and a 3rd placement in group at Hound Assoc. of Scotland Ch. Show, the same day she won the Buddies Yearling Bitch Stakes. She is a multiple BIS winner, Res. BIS winner & BPIS winner at Open Shows.’ Says owner Liz.

Taking second place in the dog class was CH Tannahill Kent, – pet name Kent, who is owned by Anne Binks. 19-month-old Beagle, Kent, has 4 CC’s.

‘He is totally laid back and just loves having a football to play with.’ Says owner Anne.

Taking second place in the bitch class was Zena Thorn Andrews’ Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Drakesleat Too Gud To Be True.

Buddies Yearling Stakes Hounds DOG 3RDThird in the dog class was won by 23-month-old Greyhound, Inchydoney Memories North Star At Halliman.

‘He is a French import and his pet name is Mr Patapouf which means ‘chubby’ in French. He lives for food. Mr Patapouf is a white and red brindle boy and was best puppy at Crufts in 2018. He also has one Challenge Certificate awarded at Manchester Ch Show in January of this year.’ Says owner Kathy.

Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund, Helydon Magical Mika took third in the bitch class. Young Mika is owned by Gordon Kirkwood.

‘She has won a hound group 1 placing at open shows, 1st open stakes class adult, group 3 at east of Scotland and group 1 paisley show. Mika loves her mum and will ignore everyone else when mum is about.’ Says Gordon.

Carol Neale took RES in the dog class, with her 21-month-old Whippet, Runaround Starman At Stornalong JW– pet name Stuart the Star Man. Stuart has 1 CC, 2 Res CC and his Junior Warrant.

Basset Griffon Vendeen, Fox’s Nightmare Zeta Jones At Maudaxi (imp RUS), took RES in the bitch class.

Mr P Wilkinson awarded VHC in the dog class to 14-month-old, Basset Griffon Vendeen (petit), Erylan Eros Dieu De Sottises, aka Rumple, who is owned by Criag, Linda and Stefanie Brown.

‘Rumple is such a happy dog with a larger than life personalisty. He shares his home with his little sister, Bonnie, who he adores.’ Says Stefanie.

VHC bitch was awarded to Whippet, Citycroft Starfall JW.
