In this waggy tale we meet Welsh Cardigan Corgi Splott, and his owner Pat.
Back in November of last year, Pat discovered a lump under Splott’s skin. Pat was understandably concerned and did the right thing by contacting her vet immediately. The vet advised her to pop in with Splott so that the lump could be checked.
After numerous diagnostic tests, the vets arrived at a diagnosis of sarcoma which is a form of cancer. The vet then referred Splott to a soft tissue specialist in Bridgewater.
‘The treatment was expensive. Being insured ensured Splott got the best chance.’.
‘It was a worry, as it was 50/50 whether Splott would survive a year given the size of the lump, either with or without surgery.’, explains Pat.
Splott’s surgery went well and the lump was successfully removed.
‘The Buddies staff were really kind, and we were so please with the service, we have insured our new puppy Sharna with Buddies too.’, adds Pat.
Puppy Sharna has settled in well with the family and has helped ensure Splott had a speedy recovery, so she has a playmate.
