Meet Scout, the star of this week’s throwback Thursday.
7-year-old Lurcher Scout has been with Friend of Buddies Tracey and her family since he was just 6 months old.
We caught up with Tracey to find out more about handsome Scout.
Why this breed?
‘Scout chose us, but we already loved sight-hounds of any type. They are easy going, quite lazy and incredibly loving.’
Where did you get Scout from?
‘We adopted Scout from East Midlands Dog Rescue when he was about 6 months old. Scout had been abandoned on the streets and had escaped almost certain death at a stray pound because he was thought to be both deaf and blind, he also had a bad case of mange and had contracted kennel cough. Scout’s life was saved by the combined efforts of three amazing rescue organisations.
Scout has literally turned out lives upside down. Although not deaf, Scout is almost completely blind, but this hasn’t held him back in the slightest.’
More about Scout…
‘Scout’s enthusiasm and zest for life is truly heart-warming, there is nothing he won’t try his paw at. Scout has climbed mountains in Wales, has paddled in the sea and has also achieved his Good Citizens Bronze award. Scout is also an active fundraiser for charity and is also a ‘Pets As Therapy’ dog, spreading love and companionship everywhere he goes.’
Scout is a true ambassador for blind and partially sighted dogs everywhere.
We are always on the lookout for #FriendsOfBuddies to feature in our posts. If you have a dog or cat, and would like to share their throwback photos, please email Becks @ Hello@Buddies.co.uk.
