Meet Tina, the latest addition to the Buddies team, and your ‘go to’ person for all things Buddies Breeder Club.
Tina joins us as ‘Breeder Channel Manager’ and her role will involve meeting with conscientious breeders to help them understand the support and cover we provide them, and their forever owners.
We caught up with Tina to find out more about her, and her experience.
‘Having worked in corporate insurance for a long time, I wanted to work for a company where I had a real passion for what I do. An honest company, with strong values and morals, and where I could make a difference. I feel that I’ve found this with Buddies. Buddies offer a great support network for breeders. A caring company that truly partners with breeders and I am excited to be sharing that vision with new breeders.’ Explains Tina.
Tina has had dogs in the family since she was 11 years old. At 17 Tina got her first dog, a rescue named Shadow, who was a Labrador cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
‘Shadow was a challenging dog, but we had a fabulous time together doing fun obedience, passing our KC Bronze good citizens test before going into flyball where I captained one of the ‘Cool Runners’ teams.
Shadow loved a ball and was mad for chasing birds. He left a massive hole in my life when I had to say goodbye earlier this year.’ Says Tina.
In August 2013, Tina bought home her first German Spitz, Merlin, more commonly known as Squirrel.
‘Merlin is my heart dog and together we started flyball and showing. Merlin made lots of firsts come true for me – we did our first ever show together, BUBA where we qualified for Crufts, and we then went on to place at our first ever Crufts.
Squirrel’s true calling is agility, he is G3 dog, we now train and compete in this with a fabulous club – ‘Upanova Tigers’. Bringing home Merlin saw me fall in love with the German Spitz breed.
Fast Forward a couple of years and I have been bitten by the show bug, I have my own affix – ‘Tispitza’ and now show Raven (Clarmers Mischief Managed under Tispitza JW). Raven has achieved so much already, her JW, PG3 at three counties CH show, a CC and 2 RCC’s and I hope her title won’t be too far off. She has started agility training proving you can have brains and beauty. We plan to have our first ‘Tispitza’ litter in 2019 and hope to bring home another member of the terrier family.’ Says Tina.
We are super excited to be working with Tina, and look forward to welcoming new breeders to the club.
