We now have our final two qualifiers for the Buddies Yearling Stakes Grand Final from the BUBA group. Qualifiers were held at the BUBA show in Staffordshire on Saturday 1st December.
Our judge for the day was highly experienced producer, campaigner and handler and dog whisper Liz Dunhill of the world renown Vormund affix. Liz was delighted with the quality of the classes and both her winners.
Sharpei Tianshan Miracle Maestro took top honours in Dogs. Maestro is owned and bred by Joy Bayliss.
‘Maestro is a very special dog, as he is known in the breed as a horsehair coat, the original coat of the breed which is less common in the show ring. He is bred through three generations of Tianshan lines and from a litter of four, he is one of three that compete successfully in the show ring.’ Says Joy.
Joining Maestro at the grand final is Dalmatian CH Millbelle Fernie JW. Fernie is owned by Jenny Wright.
‘Fernie is possibly the youngest ever Dalmation Champion. She picked up her 6th CC at BUBA with B.O.B. She also gained the title of Junior Champion at the World show in Amsterdam this year. Two of her brothers are also shown successfully.’ Says Jenny.
Maestro and Fernie will join the other twelve qualifiers from Toy, Terrier, Hound, Gundog, Working and Pastoral groups. They will be competing for the chance to become Buddies Yearling of the Year and win a grand prize of £500 plus a commission by acclaimed artist Jo van Kampen.
