Kennel Club sends out show monitors
Latest from the Buddies pet insurance news team…The Kennel Club is tightening its grip on pedigree dog shows, not only introducing new regulations, but announcing plans to send out welfare monitors to keep an eye on championship shows. The role of the monitors will be to look out for dogs with conditions that could adversely affect the health, or welfare of the animal. Show societies are also required to ensure that officials refer to a vet any dogs that in their opinion may exhibit problems relating to these areas of concern. The vet has the final decision about whether to exclude dogs after a through examination.
