Somali
The Somali is a highly intelligent and devoted companion. This cat will happily trail around after its owner, but has an independent streak. Keen to give lots of love and affection, this is a quiet feline that responds with a chirrup rather than a ‘miaow’.
The Somali is extremely playful, chasing toys or sharing games with their favourite companions. Owners looking for an outdoor cat need to be vigilant. This active hunter has little road sense! If kept indoors, owners should provide lots of toys, scratching post and things to climb up. Ideally they would have another pet to team up with.
Despite the length of the coat, grooming should be occasional. A small slicker brush will do the trick. During moulting, the coat needs extra attention to prevent matting around the ears, the trouser and pits.
